968 - Performance Heads
The cylinder head is the most overlooked and important performance part on your vehicle. Engineers spend countless hours designing the cylinder head for optimum performance only to have the precise tolerances slowly change as more miles get racked up on your car. The valve seats lose their perfect seal and as the valve guide wears, the precise actuation of the valve by the camshaft changes. Oil consumption also increases.
Face it, a cylinder head is a wear item and needs to be refreshed at some interval to maintain optimal performance. A leak down test can help indicate the condition of the cylinder heads and valves. On a high performance engine it would be safe to say that somewhere after 60,000 miles the head could stand some freshening up. After that, the wear accelerates. The tolerances and leak down become increasingly worse.

Stage 1
A stock head is reconditioned to factory standards. Includes pressure test,surfacing and all parts needed to put back to factory specifications. $995.00 exchange
Add competition valve job $1150.00 exchange.
Stage 2
A stock head is reconditioned to factory standard as above. Cylinder head receives extensive port modifications using PC based dynamic simulation tools on the SuperFlow SF600 flow bench to assist with cylinder head intake and exhaust design. Includes competition valve job. $2000.00 exchange.
Stage 3
Incorporates all Stage 2 procedures along with complete reshaping of intake port and intake manifold for optimal flow and velocity. This is the ultimate performer.
